Hoshi-jaya Matcha Set

Everything you need to make matcha the traditional way, except the matcha.

Included in the Set

• Matcha bowl, 17 oz. Wide enough to whisk properly. Cream glaze over a brown base.
• Bamboo whisk, 100 prongs. Whisking is what turns powder and water into matcha. The fine prongs build the foam.
• Whisk holder. The whisk dries on it and keeps its shape.
• Bamboo scoop. Two scoops, about 2 grams, make a standard bowl.

Usage

Sift two scoops of matcha into the bowl. Add 2–3 ounces of water at about 175°F, then whisk briskly in a zigzag until a fine foam covers the top, about 20 seconds.

Maintenance

Rinse it in warm water after each use, with no soap. Stand it on the holder to dry completely before you put it away. A whisk shut away damp can grow mould.
